Born in Roanoke, VA, and raised in Queens, NY, Ilan is an exceptional student, strong leader, and enterprising rabbi in the making.
He graduated summa cm laude with a BA in Psychology from Queens College, CUNY. In addition to YCT, he is pursuing an MS in Applied Psychology at Northeastern University. During his time in rabbinical school, Ilan interned at Beth David Synagogue in West Hartford, CT; Beth Sholom Congregation and Talmud Torah in Potomac, MD; the Heschel School; and Congregation Orach Chaim in New York.
This coming fall, Ilan will become an Atlantan, serving as the rabbi of The Dunwoody Minyan and as a Limudei Kodesh teacher at Atlanta Jewish Academy’s High School.

We don’t always have the opportunity to look back at the candid moments that capture the breadth of the Chag HaSemikha experience. So today, let's revisit some of the guests from over the years who have brought the night to life, who make YCT a thriving community.
We are so grateful for your presence.

Even amidst the flurry of activity surrounding Celebrating 25 Years of YCT, we knew we wanted to create something special for Shavuot. 🌾
This digital reader is a true labor of love.
In the small hours after May 5th, we worked for readers who have gone through the transformative experience of Jewish conversion. We worked for the loved ones of converts who have grappled with the process.
We worked for all Jews who want a more inclusive, traditional Jewish world. We worked for a better, more accepting world.
Please download, read, print, and forward this reader to someone whom it may help feel truly seen, understood, and included.

Rabbi Dr. Sharon Shalom grew up in a remote village in Ethiopia, dreaming of Jerusalem. He went on to realize that dream, becoming a rabbi and earning a doctorate in Jewish philosophy.
Last Friday, we had the honor of hosting him in the Beit Midrash.
He delivered an inspirational shiur in honor of Yom Yerushalayim, speaking about the hopes and dreams of Ethiopian Jewry and the miraculous story of their return to Jerusalem after thousands of years in the Diaspora.

We are still kvelling over the roaring success of Celebrating 25 Years of YCT on May 5th.
400 attendees. Over half a million dollars raised. 70+ alumni and rabbis in person. Three films produced. All our goals smashed!
Here are some pictures. Reels, videos, more photos, and reflections to come.
But the main takeaway is: THANK YOU. ❤️

Here’s good news and bad news, and (some) math:
The bad news is that TODAY is the last day to join 350 other guests in celebrating 25 Years of YCT on May 5th. Reserve your spot now: https://yctorah.org/celebrating-25-years/.
The GOOD NEWS is that the celebration is 10 DAYS AWAY!
And, yes, you can celebrate 25 Years of incisive, courageous, person-centric modern orthodoxy in more ways than attending in person on May 5th.To celebrate 25 Years of YCT: https://yctorah.org/celebrating-25-years/.
