Join us on June 9th for a special botanical illustration workshop with celebrating her new book, The Album of Plant Families 🌻
Learn the basics of illustrating flowers through watercolor and pen techniques while creating two original artworks to take home. Wendy will guide guests through observing botanical forms, starting with simple geometry and quick sketches before moving into more detailed floral drawings. Wendy’s book will be available for purchase.
All materials are included, and each guest will also receive:
🌿A personal watercolor kit
🌿A mini floral arrangement
🌿Guided hands-on instruction
Wendy Hollender is a botanical artist, illustrator, author, and instructor. Her illustrations have been published in The New York Times, “O,” The Oprah Magazine, Real Simple, Good Housekeeping, Sunset Magazine, he Observer (UK) as well as a large advertising campaign for the National Peanut Board.
Wendy’s work was included in the 13th International Exhibition at Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, and in exhibitions at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew, and the Smithsonian National Museum for Natural History. The US Botanic Garden had a show of Wendy’s work on roots called Illustrating Hidden Treasures in the fall of 2015.

The Advanced Design Series is this weekend! Build your floristry degree on the weekends with The Weekend Florist 🌾😎
Join us May 16-17 for 2 days of classes split over 4 sessions. Led by .designs this course builds upon skills such as color theory, recipe building and, ultimately, developing your personal style in floral design. Learn new methods of construction and take your design skills to the next level!
What to expect:
⚜️Hands-On lessons, all taught by a Floral Design Expert
⚜️Open Studio time to work on projects with more independence
⚜️Create four diverse arrangements using premium seasonal flowers
⚜️Learn advanced industry skills for floral care and design construction
⚜️Create high-end design styles using compotes, urns, organic containers and elevated designs
⚜️Work with added elements like fruits, vegetables, and unique flowers
⚜️Explore color theory and recipe building
Note: Floral aprons, tools, and other supplies will be provided for use during this program. Prerequisites are the Introduction to Design Series and the Intermediate Series.
All Weekend Florist Programs are certificate bearing, and can be applied towards your Floral Design Certificate!

Meet Ivan Gilkes, expert instructor at FlowerSchool New York. Known for his sculptural, story-driven floral style, Ivan has created weddings, events, and immersive installations for brands like Google, HBO, Meta, and Rolex before launching .io , a studio focused on the emotional and architectural power of flowers.
