The ultra-wealthy donโt play by the same money rules most people doโand it all comes down to how they structure their wealth.

Selling would trigger taxes.
So what do they do instead?
They borrow against their assets.
Banks are willing to lend them money at very low interest rates because their wealth is backed by massive investments. That borrowed money can fund anythingโhomes, travel, businessesโwithout being taxed, since loans arenโt considered income.
And when they pass it on?
In many countries, tax rules allow heirs to inherit those assets at a reset value. This means the gains that were never taxed can effectively disappear.
