Collective advocacy in action ✨
At the NYC Council Cultural Affairs Committee Preliminary Budget Hearing, Dance/NYC was proud to testify alongside a powerful group of advocacy partners calling for a more equitable cultural funding landscape in New York City.
Thank you to ID Studio, People’s Theatre, BAX | Brooklyn Arts Exchange, LxNY / Latinx Arts Consortium of New York, and Asian American Arts Alliance for showing what it means to move in coalition across communities, disciplines, and cultural organizations.
Together, we uplifted the need for sustained public investment and funding structures that better reflect the realities of the artists, workers, and communities who make this city possible. Dance/NYC’s testimony was delivered alongside fellow arts service organizations in the Cultural Equity Coalition.
This is part of building Our New York City Dance—through coalition, care, and collective action.
