it’s wild how low wealth people have been convinced everything would just be better if schools taught “financial literacy” and people “learned a trade.”

sure, those things might be great, but is that really going to significantly impact the racial wealth gap?

in 2016 the median net wealth for black households was $17k, while white households was $171k. elon musk is worth $318 billion, kanye west is worth $1.8 billion. jeff bezos is worth $203 billion, jay-z is worth $1.4 billion. yet, somehow social media blacks are being convinced this is a new day, and the black hip hop billionaires are going to deliver african americans into a new era of black prosperity.

i’m sure this post makes me a “hater,” and i honestly don’t care. the wild part is, in the grand scheme of things, i’ll be ok. i know i’ve had some privileges that place me well above the median net wealth for black households.

it’s just frustrating to listen to black folks carry on about different “agendas,” (the gay agenda…🙄) but to me the agenda is to dangle a bunch of rappers in black people’s faces as evidence that capitalism can work for us, but in the grand scheme of things we’re still very far behind. and for the most part, rappers and entertainers are the only route blacks believe we have to success. and it’s a very pro-capitalist route, so it will ensure blacks are non-revolutionary.

the number of black “relationship experts” on social media is really appalling. and some of these people actually sell books or finagle other ways to get broken and damaged folks to send them money.

if your insurance covers it, just go see a licensed mental health professional. and even then be selective.

but stop acting like folks whispering from their car or in their mom’s basement really have some hot take on how to maintain a healthy relationship.

it’s wild how folks still use “two men can’t make a baby” as an argument in opposition to lgbt equality.

the phrase really should be “two men can’t make a baby by mistake.” that phrase would be more relevant and applicable because so many of the folks who talk the most homophobic s**t have a slew of kids that were unplanned and are being fed by the state. and gay male couples who adopt children actually want them and don’t post on social media about how one parent “ain’t s**t” or how “they taking too much out my check for child support!”

a lot of folks really need to s**u but i guess when the only thing that’s ever functioned properly in your life is your reproductive organs you don’t have much else to talk about. 🤷🏽‍♂️ 🏳️‍🌈
