We also focus on advancing women's learning at the highest level.

Drisha advances a model of serious learning that is engaged, committed, and open through full-time and part-time learning programs focused on classical Jewish texts - for young adults and adults in the United States and Israel.

Drisha is pleased to announce the appointment of Channa Lockshin Bob as CEO, effective July 1!

Channa’s background includes leadership roles in schools and nonprofits, including Edu-Together, an online school; Yachad, a large mixed secular-religious school in Israel; and TALI, an educational nonprofit.

She began her career in the classroom and has over twenty years of experience teaching Talmud and other Jewish texts. Besides her professional experience, Channa has a deeply personal connection to Drisha, where she first studied in 1998. She graduated from Drisha’s Scholars Circle, a program of intensive Talmud and Jewish Law. She sees Drisha as the institution that most profoundly shaped her intellectual and religious growth.

Rabbi David Silber, the founder of Drisha, said: “Channa combines commitment to Torah learning with thoughtful educational leadership and an understanding of Drisha’s mission. I believe she is exceptionally well-positioned to guide Drisha into its next stage of growth.”

While Channa will lead Drisha into its next chapter, Rabbi Silber will continue to inform Drisha’s vision and educational strategy.

“When Rabbi David Silber founded Drisha in 1979, women’s advanced Torah study was a new idea,” said Channa. “That idea transformed the Jewish world, and women’s learning has become an established reality.

“Today, Drisha continues to play a leading role in shaping the future of Torah learning — raising the bar for advanced women’s scholarship in its yeshiva, nurturing a love of serious Jewish learning in teens, and expanding access to Torah study through courses and intensive programs for learners of all backgrounds.

“At the heart of Drisha’s vision is the belief that deep and honest Torah study should be accessible to everyone. Learners at Drisha are empowered to study Talmud and other foundational texts independently, to ask difficult questions with intellectual openness and rigor, and to bring Torah learning into conversation with the moral and spiritual challenges of contemporary life.

“My goal is not only to strengthen Drisha as an institution, but to help advance Torah learning at every level of the Jewish world.”
