Congratulations to SALT Editor Ashley Beccia for being selected to receive the NFMLTA Dissertation Writing Support Grant! 🎉
Ashley’s dissertation in-progress, titled “Task Complexity and Learner Agency: A Dynamic Investigation into Young Learners’ Task Performance,” explores task-based learning among young English language learners. Grounded in Complex Dynamic Systems Theory and Usage-based Learning, the study integrates both etic and emic perspectives, treating task conditions, the learner, and the learner’s task performance as interdependent elements in an ecosystem that evolves across time.
