🌍🙏 Community Collaboration in Action: Hurricane Aid for Schoolfield, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica 🙏🌍

We are overjoyed to share that much-needed hurricane aid has been successfully collected, shipped, and distributed in Schoolfield, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica! This effort was made possible by the incredible partnership between SAFE, GivingSolesAfrica.org, and the generous members of the community in New York. Together, we gathered essential items including shoes, clothing, school supplies, canned and dry food, toilet paper, and more.

A massive thank you goes out to everyone who donated their time, effort, and resources to make this possible. Your kindness will truly make a difference in the lives of those affected.

Special appreciation to Celia, Taquelia, and the dedicated school administrators at Schoolfield Infant and Primary School in Jamaica for ensuring these donations were distributed with care and love to those who need it most.

Together, we continue to lift each other up and make a positive impact! 💙✨

Dear Residents of Jamaica, SAFE family and friends;
We are deeply saddened by the devastation caused by the recent hurricane Beryl. Our hearts go out to everyone affected during this challenging time.

Please know that we stand with you in solidarity and are committed to providing the necessary aid to support you in your recovery. We are working tirelessly to gather resources and assistance to help rebuild homes, restore communities, and bring relief to those in need.

Your resilience and strength inspire us, and we are dedicated to ensuring that hope and support reach every corner of our beloved Jamaica. The recovery will take time and we pray that we can find the resources and effectively show that the world cares about the distress you might be feeling right now. The Lord bless and keep you as you prevail during this time of recovery from the devastation. Keep heart!

SAFE wishes one and all a February 2021 of black history that continues for the years to come. We continue to have hope against the odds of the current pandemic. We are impressed with the creativity and determination with which life continues. This against a backdrop of uncertainty about resources, funding and sadly, for some, tremendous lost of loved ones. Our deepest condolences to all who have lost family and friends during this time.
Many people are tired, and already overstretched. Some are anxious or angry about different things, including the uncertainty of life ahead.
We need to know what keeps our people going when the tanks are running low, and how we can maintain and support wellbeing and the motivation to ensure we deliver on our goals.
At the heart of this is the simple and important recognition that there is no one-size-fits-all way of doing things. This is especially true in the context of the pandemic.
There is no blueprint. We must muddle through the opportunities and challenges together – working with clarity and confidence about our objectives and what is achievable. Talking about wellness and mental health.
Now is the time for empathy and courageous leadership, emotional intelligence in bucket loads, and demonstrable care for our families, friends, neighbors, and ourselves. Now is the time to be thinking about self-care, checking in on each other and thinking about how we can create spikes of joy for ourselves and others.
