If anyone needs advice regarding middle schools in NYC, lmk! I am a Columbia GS alum and my kids are at The Studio School in Manhattan and they love it. I've seen my boys' pre-teen 'armor' dissolve and transform into openness and joy. They have also taken ownership of their academics, so no struggles in that area. And, all the graduates get into their top-choice high schools-- truly a parent's dream. The school offers a community for the parents as well and twice a month there are parent development meetings.

Join us on Monday 31st, October in Lewishon from 3PM - 5PM for our Halloween Spectacular! There will be arts & crafts, lots of candy and Snacks. We hope to see you there. This will be the first official event for CUFSN for “Fall 22” and a Great opportunity to meet fellow students with children and families.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb 23 at 9pm EST,

Niko Karidakis has organized a webinar with Harvard Law School student, Isaac Sommers, and he would love to hear from some members of CUFSN. He hopes you will also have the chance to join.

Topics of Discussion will include:

- What Isaac wishes he’d known before Harvard Law School
- What he’s learned from his first year at HLS
- How law school is different than undergrad
- How to know if law school is right for you
- What Pre-Law students should do during their summers
- Tips for approaching Law School applications

We are collecting feedback from our members to advocate for policies that support parents/caregivers in programs at Columbia. Glaciologist Jonny Kingslake, an assistant professor at Columbia’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, will lead a family-friendly program, sharing insights and photographs from his research trips to Antarctica. In language aimed at younger attendees, he will explain how the study of past and present ice flow in the Antarctic ice sheet is key in predicting sea-level rise.
