Since it's honey bottling time, I sometimes have to deal with jars that are all spotted up from hard water. A tip for fixing that is to wash the bottles out with a weak (10%) White Vinegar solution. Make sure to do a clean water rinse and let them air dry or even run them through a sanitize cycle on your dishwasher. Here is a before & after picture of a badly stained jar we cleaned using the white vinegar wash.

In 2009, Michelle Obama helped bring new attention to the White House grounds through her kitchen garden and the beehives that supported it. The project had promoted healthier food choices, local sourcing, and environmental awareness, while the honey produced from those hives became a meaningful symbol of that effort.

White House honey had later been featured in meals, official gifts, and special events, showing how a small garden project had grown into a tradition with a wider message. Years afterward, the honey tradition continued to appear during important occasions, including a state dinner connected to King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s 2026 visit to Washington.

Obama’s initiative had left a lasting impression by making sustainability feel practical and connected to daily life. Her work showed that simple ideas, such as growing food and caring for pollinators, could inspire conversations about health, responsibility, and the environment for years to come.
