To be fair, Golden is a BOP ✨

The NYYS Musical Theater Songwriting program is an opportunity for students to explore the art of writing songs you might hear in your favorite musical. Whether you're a musician, a writer, or just a Broadway enthusiast, this program is for you!

Throughout the year, under the guidance of Michael Kooman, students with a wide range of musical backgrounds and experiences come together to experiment, create, and develop their own songs. From writing original music to workshopping their pieces with professional songwriters from some of your favorite musicals, students get the chance to experience the creative process firsthand.
