Sometimes I put something down for a few months, I come back and it's obvious. I can't explain why. But you have to have the faith..."

I work with girls in middle school and high school who often get hamstrung by perfectionism. I see how it interferes with curiosity and the ability to take risks in learning, as well as eroding self esteem and causing social anxiety. Brava Alicia Keys for expressing your experience honestly and eloquently. Thank you for accepting yourself as naturally beautiful, but not flawless (whatever that means) and for being brave enough to share your raw self with us. Real is exciting.
