JYC recently closed out the school year with a special graduation ceremony. We spoke about the special role of every Jew in contributing to the chain of Jewish tradition, and celebrated our students unique contributions to the Jewish people with our very own student made Aleph Bet book! Our students spent all year learning their Hebrew letters and vocabulary words, and will now be able to take them home and learn from them forever!

Have a great summer!

Today we celebrated BOTH Mother’s Day and Yom Ha’atzmaut by making fun Hebrew coupons for our moms, and Israel charm bracelets! It was so much fun!

Happy Thanksgiving! Last week, in honor of the holiday, our students learned about the gift of Hakarot Hatov, gratitude, and its foundational role in Jewish tradition.

To embody the feeling of Hakarot Hatov, we made gratitude cards to share at our Thanksgiving tables, and wrote letters for IDF soldiers to express our gratitude for their bravery and strength!

This past Sunday, students learned about the hero-like qualities of Eliezer, Abraham’s servant, who worked hard to find a wife for Isaac and play an indispensable role in the story of the Jewish people without having his name mentioned and taking any credit.

Our students had a great time learning about the ways Abraham taught us how to fulfill the mitzvah of Hachnasat orchim, welcoming guests, and made welcome signs for their homes!
