Good morrow! This week, Camp Churchill traded the modern world for the Middle Ages, embarking on a legendary quest to Medieval Times! Our campers took their places as noble guests for the day, feasting without utensils, cheering for knights, and filling the castle with incredible energy.
The excitement carried right back to camp for a week packed with summer activities and hands-on learning. HUZZAH! ⚔️👑

Our campers had a blast diving into hands-on STEAM projects, sports, swimming, and arts, and of course, daily Orton-Gillingham literacy instruction. Plus, they had an exciting outing to see “Toy Story 5.”
We also loved seeing everyone’s wild and whimsical styles during Crazy Hair Day and Halloween at Camp!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this year’s Summer Literacy Symposium!
We were thrilled to welcome educators, literacy specialists, tutors, and school leaders for a day of learning, collaboration, and meaningful conversations centered on evidence-based literacy instruction.
Our speakers, Dr. Wiley Blevins, Dr. Brennan Chandler, Dr. Devin Kearns, and Dr. Marisa Ramirez Stukey, shared their expertise and practical, research-backed strategies to support readers in Grades 3 and beyond. Their insights sparked thoughtful discussions and left attendees with actionable ideas to bring back to their classrooms.
Additional thanks to the experts who joined us for the implementation panel: Andrew Fletcher, Samantha Mosher, Lisa Russo, Justin Browning, and Isabelle Simmons.
Together, we’re strengthening literacy instruction, supporting educators, and empowering more students to become confident, successful readers.

To say we are proud of the Class of 2026 is an understatement.
These students have worked incredibly hard to reach this milestone: graduation! The ceremony was truly a spirited celebration with lots of applause, laughter, and (happy) tears. You could feel the pride and excitement in the room from family, friends, teachers, and supporters who have been cheering them on every step of the way.
As faculty speaker Michelle O’Connor-Hill shared, “Thank you, Class of 2026 for your humor, your resilience, your energy, your honesty, and your heart. You have challenged us. You have inspired us. And you reminded us why a school like Churchill really matters, because they are places where human beings learn not only how to succeed, but how to connect and care for each other.”
Thank you to the vast support systems that have helped these students along the way. We are so proud of all they have achieved and know they will continue to make us proud in the years to come.
