At Teachers Who Tutor | NYC, our tutors are experienced teachers at New York City independent schools who offer one-on-one skill-based tutoring to students in grades 1-12 in the convenience of your home. Our tutors create a specific plan of learning objectives that will promote the enjoyment, success and self-sufficiency of each individual. To best support each student's intellectual growth, we consult with parents to identify both challenging areas and personal strengths before matching students with a private tutor. Each tutor then provides weekly written feedback to parents, and we meet twice a year as a team to review each semester’s progress and plan accordingly. As educators and tutors ourselves, we understand that students are most successful when the tutors, teachers, and parents collaborate as a support team. We work directly with teachers, learning specialists, and/or administrators at our students' schools to ensure that we provide scaffolding that is aligned with the goals and pedagogy of each course.
