Happy Thursday, we’re close to the weekend!
Meet Chelsea, our co-president ✨
Chelsea is from Bethesda, Maryland. She likes to relax with a good TV show after long days in clinic - her favorite guilty pleasure series Rupaul’s Drag Race! Her favorite comfort food is sushi.

Chelsea says if she didn’t have to sleep, she’d learn more about 3D printing and laser cutting because she wants to make furniture! (Check out her handy creations in the last pic 👀)

She wishes her friends outside of dental school could understand “the DRAMA and that dental school IS 4 years.” (😂)

The single most thing she appreciates about CDM is her classmates. 💛

Happy International Women’s Day! ✨

Today spotlight is dedicated to Rumi Lazarova (D3). Rumi is from Dartmouth, MA and originally from Sofia, Bulgaria. She was first exposed to dentistry, when she was young, watching her mom go through dental school in NYC. That’s when she first fell in love with what she does for her patients and the city she was in. 13 years later, Rumi is here in the city, pursuing what she loves where it all began for her family. She’s drawn to aesthetic dentistry because beautiful smiles empower patients in more ways than we can comprehend. 😁

Rumi loves to relax by taking walks in the park, good takeout and a Netflix binge. Chipotle is her go to comfort food and her favorite guilty pleasure media is “literally anything on TLC.”

Something she wishes her friends outside of dental school could understand is that, “we don’t go into dentistry because we are obsessed with teeth.” (True!) She was also surprised to find out that if you manage your time wisely, you’ll have time to enjoy the city with your friends while staying on top of your work. Rumi loves CDM for the integrated biomedical curriculum, which helped her appreciate the ways in which our systemic health affects our oral health. These are things she teaches her patients everyday.

Happy Thursday! 🙌🏼

Meet Erika (D2), one of our events coordinators! Erika immigrated to the U.S. from Russia at the age of 10. Some of her hobbies that help her de-stress include Pilates Mat, Reformer Pilates, and Barre classes! She loves the beautiful combination of art and medicine that dentistry has to offer and found interest in aesthetics because it provides the opportunity to enhance a patient’s confidence by improving both aesthetic form and function. Her favorite comfort food is ramen from Tampopo Ramen in WaHi (she has one 🍜 per week 🙈) and likes to watch anything/everything on Netflix top 10! If she didn’t have to sleep and had more hours in a day, she says she’d experiment with all the fun recipes she promises herself she’ll get to when “things slow down a bit.” In dental school, Erika was most surprised to find out that the greatest moments of learning often come from collaborative experiences with her classmates.

Have a great rest of your weeks everyone!

Hey, happy Tuesday! Hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend 😊

The aesthetics club is up and running again at CDM and we’re back on IG with a member spotlight series!

Meet Jenna, our co-president. Jenna is from Livonia, MI. Her spark for dentistry is rooted in the confidence-change in patients after a beautiful outcome because who wouldn’t want to make people smile?! She also loves the ability to change not only teeth, but the entire face to create a harmonious outcome with aesthetic dentistry. Jenna likes to try new restaurants in the city during her off time and says that she’d get around to those books she keeps saying she’d read if we had a couple extra hours in a day (I think a lot of us can concur)! Something that surprised her the most about dental school has been that there is still time to relax and have fun and she loves CDM for the lifelong friendships she’s made. 💕
