Caribbean Studies is a dual major requiring 18 credits in addition to any other major at Brooklyn College.
Students with a Caribbean Studies proficiency would find employment in environmental organizations, NGO's (non-profit organizations), the public school system, embassies, transportation and travel services, management, and marketing/business services, international law, finance, agriculture, urban development and other community organizations. CS prepares students to enter a variety of fields with global knowledge in an increasingly diverse workplace.

No Man’s Land: Barbuda After Irma The Caribbean island of Barbuda felt the full force of Hurricane Irma. Now, a struggle to control its future is underway. On one side are Barbudans who own the land and want to preserve their unique way of life — on the other, the government and foreign investors who see opportunity in disaster.
Lisa Del Sol is Brooklyn College Graduate with a BA in English Literature and Caribbean Studies. In the fall she will be a First Year PhD student at Columbia University in English and Comparative Literature. Here she presents a part of her Senior Undergraduate Honor’s Thesis based on the literature of Patrick Chamoiseau at the CSA conference, Haiti
