As summer heats up, the Production Office wants to look at the notorious summer blockbuster phenomenon. Whether it be a cult classic, indie darling, or action-packed joyride, the summer blockbuster provides entertainment (and air conditioning) for millions of moviegoers. Happy Pride Month! In celebration of NYC Pride, we wanted to share our personal movie recommendations to celebrate LGBTQ+ stories in film. Please enjoy wherever and however you will be celebrating this month! All movies are available through NYU Stream.

Ever reach out to the Production Office for a letter verifying you're a student, but are told to reach out to your production advisor instead?

Here's why:
If you’re applying for a permit to film on a city street or park, you need a verification letter that is attached to your production insurance. This will be provided to you by your production advisor.

If you are location scouting, soliciting donations, or setting up payroll, you can swing by the Production Office for a letter verifying you are a student in good standing.

Everyone gets a first aid kit! If you need one for your set, stop by the Production Office to pick one up! (We're talking to you UGFTV Advanced, and Grad Film students!) .

Filming scenes with nudity, partial nudity, or intimacy, is uniquely challenging because it puts everyone in a vulnerable position. The Intimacy Pillars and the union requirements below are some of the tools to facilitate clear communication and safety on set. To learn more about filming intimate scenes please visit the casting and performers page on the Kanbar FTV Site (link in bio).

NYU FTV has a collaboration with IDC professionals for students to receive a consultation on their films with nudity or intimacy. Look for the form to sign up in our bio.

NOTE: A small consultation fee may be required and will not be assessed until it is determined that your film requires consultation.

The Production Fair was a huge success earlier this month! Thank you to everyone who attended. Seed & Spark a film oriented crowdfunding platform is offering 1:1 mentoring mentoring for NYU students! Seed&Spark is a crowdfunding service that allows you to keep funds once you are 80% funded.

Script submission for Pitch Night is NOW OPEN until March 21st! Follow on Instagram for the submission link and more exciting events. Students of all majors and scripts of all lengths, genres, and themes are welcomed. Script submission is optional and all rights are reserved!

Pitch Night is on April 1st (Friday), 7:30 PM on zoom! Filmmakers are welcome to follow on Instagram and wait for the zoom RSVP link!

The Production Fair's last event is tomorrow! February 18th. Filmmaking can lead to a lot of waste if we're not careful. Earth Angel (started by an NYU Alumn!) will talk to us about what goes into keeping an earth-friendly and sustainable environment while on set.
