Meet Jessica Wagner, the founder & owner of the Jessica Wagner Vocal Studio!
Jessica originally hails from Plano, TX, where she attended Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, majoring in voice and dance. After high school, she went on to receive a BFA in musical theatre from NYU's CAP21. She currently resides in Manhattan, where she teaches voice and performs.
Jessica has been seen Off-Broadway and Off-Off Broadway as Daisy Mae in LI'L ABNER, Julia Soemia in the new opera-infused play RISE, Virginia Clemm in THE RAVEN, and Cleo in THEODORE & CO. (U.S. Premiere), and in such venues as Town Hall, Joe's Pub, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, The Cutting Room, The Underground, and Swing 46. Favorite regional roles include the Lady Of the Lake in SPAMALOT, the Narrator in JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, Kate Monster/Lucy in the regional premiere of AVENUE Q, Maria Rainer in THE SOUND OF MUSIC, Judy Bernly in 9 TO 5, and Sister James in DOUBT with Loretta Swit. Recordings include SINGING FOR DUMMIES and HALLOWEEN HULLABALOO (available on iTunes). She is a proud member of AEA.
Jessica has been teaching private voice for three years in NYC and has trained for over 10 years with Brian Schexnayder, who was a resident baritone of the Met for 17 years, and Dr. Pam Phillips, who is the head of CAP21's voice program and the author of SINGING FOR DUMMIES.
