Every time we step out to achieve great things for God and every time we get ready to launch ourselves into a fresh project or dream God has placed in our hearts, there is bound to be resistance. At every corner a new storm will rage trying to throw us off our course.

Instead of focusing on the raging storm, let’s focus on the One who has the authority to rebuke it saying “Be still.” Even the winds and the waves obey His voice. This is the secret and the power to press onward.

LOOK UP CHILD - Don’t give up now - Don’t turn back now - Labor and Deliver

A labor room is pretty messy. After hours of toiling, exhaustion takes over. Feeling weak, the mother can hardly push anymore. But she knows that if she wants to see her baby she has got to keep pushing. She could rest a while but one way or the other the delivery has to be completed.

Recently I had a vision of something along similar lines. I was walking up a high mountain trying to get to the top but toward the end I was ready to give up because, well I was physically and mentally tired of how long this was taking. But just when I said “I am done Lord. I can’t do it anymore,” God removed the veil off my eyes to see that I was only few steps away from the peak - the very point I had been aspiring long to get to. And His voice said to me, “Look Up Child. You have come too far to turn back now.” So I had to push through the steep and narrow incline till I finally reached my goal.

I wonder how many times we have all said “I am done” when there’s still some miles to cover.
Tired of waiting for these quarantine waves to be over - tired of waiting for jobs and some stability - Tired of waiting for answered prayers - Tired of waiting for the dreams and promises God conceived in us - tired of fighting for truth - and I could go on.

But through it all God’s voice echoes, “look up child. You can’t do it by your strength but I will help you with my Spirit. So hold on to my hand and keep pushing and soon you’ll hold your baby in your hands.”

So now. now. The night is nearly over. The day is almost here. Few more pushes, few more steps, few more miles before those dreams and promises come to pass. We need only to
because it’s not by our might not by our strength but by His Holy Spirit.

Lately, my heart has been aching and longing for eternity. A glimpse of heaven, a vision, a dream of what it must be like has literally overtaken my very being. Then I realized that eternity has already begun for me. The day I traded my sordid past for a glorious future, when Jesus became my Lord and Savior, that day was when it was embedded in my heart. I’ve been journaling what trusting God in the now looks like. It got me thinking of unexpected interruptions and seeming delays to our plans. Things that are sure to disappoint us, wreak havoc, turn our world upside down and give us a false sense of defeat because as it says, it was unexpected and most often they’re also unwelcome. But God was always ready, intricately weaving and orchestrating everything for good to fit into his eternal plans. These delays and interruptions become his sanctuary, his secret place to meet with us, his training ground to arm us and his farm bed where he can prepare our soil and cultivate in us empathy and the perfect message of hope to a hurting world. These unexpected interruptions are bound to have unseen blessings in them. These moments are all leading up to a greater purpose. But till we see them, we can rest and trust, letting the gardener quietly work in us.

I don’t know if this has happened to you. But have you ever felt like God has become distant from you? Have you felt like He doesn’t see you anymore or has forgotten you? Does He seem silent?
