OPEN ON SIGNAL WOMAN AS SHE MAGICALLY APPEARS IN THE BACK SEAT OF A CAR THAT’S IN THE LEFT TURN LANE, STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. SHE TALKS TO THE DRIVER.

SIGNAL WOMAN: Surprise!

DRIVER: Who are you?

SIGNAL WOMAN: I work here.
SHE INDICATES THE SIGNAL BOX WITH HER IMAGE IN IT. THE DRIVER DOES A DOUBLE TAKE.

DRIVER: Oh, you’re . . .

SIGNAL WOMAN: . . . Signal Woman. (SPEAKING ROYALLY) First of her name, Queen of Safety, Protector of Pedestrians . . .

SHE SEES THE DRIVER’S LEFT BLINKER BLINKING.

SIGNAL WOMAN: So, I see you are turning left at that intersection?

DRIVER: I am.

WE SEE THE INTERSECTION FROM THE DRIVER’S PERSPECTIVE. SIGNAL WOMAN POINTS OUT THE GAP AND PEDESTRIANS.

SIGNAL WOMAN: Okay, before you make that turn, don’t just look for gaps in oncoming traffic. Check for pedestrians and cyclists, too.

DRIVER: Wow, that’s smart.

SIGNAL WOMAN: You know, I do this 24-hours a day. Literally.

THE DRIVER GETS READY TO TURN, CHECKING FOR PEDESTRIANS, CYCLISTS AND ONCOMING TRAFFIC.

SIGNAL WOMAN: Well, back to the office for me. Thanks for the chat.

DRIVER: Sure.

CUT TO SIGNAL WOMAN IN HER SIGNAL BOX WAVING AT THE DRIVER AS HE TURNS LEFT WITH THE LIGHT.

SIGNAL WOMAN: (TO DRIVER) Byyeee . . . (TO CAMERA) He’s doing exactly what I taught him. Such a good student.

Roadmap is excited to announce our newest initiative, *Thriving at 50+:
Creating Strong Female Characters 50 and over*.

The initiative, which is free to apply to, is open to writers of all ages
who have a script that features a 50+ female protagonist.

To apply, writers must submit a one paragraph description of their 50+
female protagonist and their script. Writers must submit a completed script
for a 1/2 hour pilot, 1-hour pilot, or feature to qualify.

Roadmap will select 3 Winners who will participate in a one-month
mentorship in October with one of our incredible industry mentors that
