There is something deeply special about becoming a Doula 💛 It’s more than discovering a vocation—it’s an awakening, a profound return to community, intuition, and sacred support. As you step into this space, you join a lineage of guardians who have walked this path for generations ✨🤲

We create a safe space and circle, whether we gather virtually or in person 📣

The doulas feel comfortable sharing their personal stories and being vulnerable, knowing that those listening honor the sacredness and confidentiality of each and every person.

We learn to listen without judgment during our time together, to be fully present, and to honor every person and their cultural perspectives, beliefs, and values.

Before long, the smiles, the tears, the pain, the healing, and the joy all come out.

This right here should be the default, the norm and how most women feel after birth.

We need more birthworkers who understand this so more mothers can experience THIS!

”And yet for so many of us: it doesn’t. Why is this? The way we treat moms and babies in the moments before and after birth matter. And if you didn’t feel this same awesome rush: it’s okay. Birth can be hard, complicated, interrupted, and even shocking. But we should still advocate for gentle birth and to protect this sacred transition.”

By MadameNoire - Could An Org@sm Make Childbirth Easier? These Experts Say Yes — And They’ve Got The Vi****or To Prove It ❤️‍🔥

Dame Products and Or****ic Birth created a vi****or to help release oxytocin during labor, which may reduce pain and stress naturally.

Research shows that org@sm can reduce pain, increase ple@sure, and enhance the release of oxytocin,” Debra Pascali-Bonaro Debra Pascali-Bonaro told the Post

“It gives people the choice to bring comfort and ple@sure into their birth if they want to,” Fine said. “Although it is rarely part of the mainstream narrative around labor, org@smic birth is a real possibility. We’re expanding awareness of a story that’s rarely told and giving people permission to imagine a fuller spectrum of birth experiences.”

The role of a Doula with Debra Pascali-Bonaro ♥️

Ask yourself: Who will provide you with continuous support, both emotional and physical and guide you to find comfort especially during the challenges of childbirth?
🌟Your nurse
🌟Your midwife
🌟Your doctor
🌟Your partner
🌟Your doula

If you feel your nurse, midwife and doctor will be supporting you in this way, yes you may be right to a degree. However, their primary job is to keep you and your baby safe. They will be monitoring your health, and likely will have other people to care for their presence in your room may not be for very long and will usually not be consistent. They too wish they could be with you more and surely will offer some comfort, but our busy system does not allow them to offer what you really need in continuous care. Doctors usually arrive when you are fully dilated, so counting on hospital or birth center staff for support often leaves you without what you hoped for.

What about your partner? Do they have training and skills to support birth? Often they are having their own emotional experience and partners that have a doula often participate even more since they have the support and encouragement they need too.

A doula is there for you and your partner to help you both.

✨ Huge news for the birth community! The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) has just released a brand-new guidance: “Partnering with Doulas in Clinical Settings.” 📣📣📣

What makes this so special? It was co-authored by both OB-GYNs and practicing doulas, proving that we share a single, beautiful goal: ensuring every person has a safe, supported, and dignified birth experience. 🤝✨

The latest statement urges OB-GYNs to champion this partnership. Why? Because continuous doula support directly correlates with:
⏱️ Shorter labors
📉 Fewer cesareans
🤍 Higher birth satisfaction

With maternal mortality rates still unacceptably high, the incorporation of doulas into clinical settings is no longer just a preference—it’s a proven, evidence-based strategy to improve patient outcomes and address systemic health inequities.

Every woman and birthing person deserves a team that communicates, respects their autonomy, and works together for their physical and emotional well-being. This new guidance is a massive step forward for the entire birth community. 🩺🕊️
