From past to present, the logo has evolved through the decades, reflecting its rich heritage and growth. ✈️ However, as we celebrate 90 years, I expected a redesign that pushes the boundaries a bit further. Here's to hoping future updates bring the fresh innovation we’re all waiting for! 💭

The name "Mitsubishi" refers to the three-diamond emblem. "Mitsubishi" is a combination of the words mitsu and hishi. Mitsu means three. Hishi means water chestnut, and Japanese have used the word for a long time to denote a rhombus or diamond shape. Japanese often bend the "h" sound to a "b" sound when it occurs in the middle of a word. So they pronounce the combination of mitsu and hishi as mitsubishi.

Mr. Kalff on the history:

"The famous Philips emblem—the stars and the waves—came about by coincidence. As an architect, I had no idea how a radio worked. So I asked, 'What is a radio?'"

NBC first introduced the peacock in 1956 to symbolize its pride in color television. The brand received a major overhaul in 1986 when Chermayeff & Geismar stepped in to redesign the logo.

KFC was founded by Colonel Harland Sanders (1890–1980), an entrepreneur who began selling fried chicken from his roadside restaurant in Corbin, Kentucky, during the Great Depression.
