For most of my life, I believed my body was something I needed to control to feel safe.
I didn’t realize how early that belief started.
My younger sister was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis when she was just a baby—at a time when doctors said she might not live past two.
We didn’t talk about it.
But I learned something without anyone saying it out loud:
Life is fragile… and control feels like protection.
So I tried to do everything “right.”
With food. With my body. With my life.
And for a while, it looked like it was working.
Until it didn’t.
At 49, I lost my husband to cancer.
Years later, I was diagnosed with atypical cystic fibrosis myself.
And suddenly, control wasn’t working anymore.
That’s when everything changed.
I stopped trying to fix my body…
And started learning how to listen to it.
And the fight I had been in for decades finally began to soften.
If you’ve been trying to control your body to feel safe…
You’re not broken.
You were taught that.
But there is another way.
If this resonates, comment “READY” or send me a message. I’ll share how to begin.

The most damaging lie diet culture ever told women in midlife is this:
Your struggle with food is a willpower problem.
It isn't.
The restrict-and-collapse cycle is a biological response to deprivation. The food noise is a nervous system response to decades of stress and mixed messages. The emotional eating is a communication from parts of you that were never given another language for what they carry.
I work with women whose stories have been dismissed by practitioners who handed them another meal plan and called it support.
The real work is deeper than that. And it is available to every woman — regardless of how long she has been struggling or how complicated her history is.
If this resonates with you, let's talk (link to schedule is below and in the comments). If someone in your networkcan benefit, , please share it. The woman who needs to read this may not know yet that another way exists.

I spent decades at war with food.
Restricting. Purging. Searching for the diet that would finally fix me.
What I know now, after 20 years of recovery and a decades-long career built on helping midlife women find their way home to themselves, is this:
The problem was never the food.
If you are a midlife woman who is exhausted by the rules, confused by the noise, and quietly wondering if peace with your body is even possible for you —
This is my love letter to you.

If you work with women in midlife, you already know.
The conversation is rarely just about food.
It is about decades of diet culture, identity shifts, hormonal transitions, and the particular exhaustion of a woman who has spent years putting everyone else first.
Midlife Metamorphosis: The Journey from Diet Culture to Radical Acceptance gives you a clinical companion that speaks to the whole woman — not just her symptoms.
Throughout the book you will find workbook exercises your clients can engage with between sessions, journal prompts that surface the beliefs and patterns driving their relationship with food, and group discussion questions that translate beautifully into coaching circles, therapeutic groups, and professional book clubs.
The 4R Framework — Recognize, Reject, Reclaim, Radically Accept — gives your clients a compassionate, repeatable structure for doing the deeper work. One that honors bio-individuality, nervous system healing, and the wisdom that emerges when a woman finally stops fighting her body.
This book complements the work you are already doing and holds space for your clients in the hours between appointments.
Consider it for your practice, your waiting room, your group programs, or your next professional development conversation.
