Community public school PS98 in Douglaston is a piece of old New York. It is a small school that generally has under 300 students.
Built in the 1930s, it compliments the Historic district of Douglaston Manor. Douglaston is a peninsula on Long Island Sound that has a long history in sailing that goes back to the gilded age of Long Island. William Douglas owner of the schooner Yacht SAPPHO was an Americas cup defender in 1871. PS98 continues to be one of the top schools in District 26 and ranked 45th in the state.
