Leaving a toxic situation doesn’t always mean your body knows it’s over.

You may have a new job with an awesome boss. And yet, you still brace when someone asks to speak with you.

You apologize before you've done anything wrong, or overthink every email before you send it.

It’s not like the protector system is trying to make things difficult. Try this:

Pause and speak directly to your protector system. Place your hand on your heart and say, "I need my protector system to raise its head up and look around…it's 2026."

“That happened and it's over now. This is a different time.”

Then become quiet for a moment.

Notice what happens and what still feels afraid. Not so you can make it disappear...

But so you can begin a relationship with the part of you that's still trying to keep you safe.

Healing is helping every part of yourself recognize that old chapters have already come to an end.

If you'd like to experience this work more directly, I'd love to invite you to join me for a free live guided Qi practice on July 21st at 6:00 p.m. EST.

We'll explore what it means to help the Body-Mind-Spirit system recognize that what once had to be survived no longer needs to be.

Healing doesn't happen because the calendar says so.

The mind isn't the whole story. You may understand what happened, and find yourself saying "That was years ago. I'm over it."

But your Body-Mind-Spirit system is still be responding as though the experience is happening now.

You may find yourself saying yes when you wanted to say no... withdrawing from a relationship... or feeling anxious without understanding why.

This simply tells us another layer of your system is asking for your attention.

One of the things I love about the Body-Mind-Spirit framework is that it helps us relate to these moments differently.

Instead of asking "Why am I still doing this?" or "Shouldn't I be over this by now?", we become curious.

"What part of me is still trying to protect me?"

Because the body isn't trying to hold you back. More often than not, it's faithfully carrying something that once helped you survive.

And perhaps now… It's simply waiting for you to help it lay that burden down.

If you'd like to experience what this kind of healing feels like, I'd love to invite you to join me for a free live guided Qi practice on July 21st at 6:00 p.m. EST.

We'll explore what it means to work with the Body-Mind-Spirit system, not just through understanding, but through DIRECT experience.

There's a beautiful saying in Chinese Medicine: Where the mind goes, the Qi follows.

One of the beautiful practices in the Subtle Body Method is returning to what we call your 50%.

What belongs to you? What belongs to them?

Can you remain deeply compassionate, without leaving yourself?

If your attention is constantly organizing around someone else's experience, your Qi often follows it there.

Because from that place, you can care deeply for others (without carrying it home with you).

If you'd like to experience this for yourself, I'd love to invite you to join me for a free live guided Qi practice on July 21st at 6:00 p.m. EST.

We'll practice returning to your own center together.

Empaths: The best way to stop carrying other people's energy may not be protecting yourself.

One of the things I've noticed is that many empaths spend a great deal of energy trying to keep other people's emotions out…

They're looking for the “perfect shield”, the perfect boundary or protection practice.

But in Chinese Medicine, this is backwards. When your own system is full, grounded, and nourished, you're naturally less likely to take on what doesn't belong to you.

Your work isn't to become better at defending yourself. It's to become more deeply rooted in yourself.

A starting place you can explore is the Solar Plexus, the place where your ribs come together 🌞

This is one of the areas where we can become overconnected to another person's experience.

If you notice yourself carrying someone else's anxiety, trying to fix their pain, or feeling responsible for their emotions, simply place your hand over your Solar Plexus. Take a slow breath and ask, "What is my 50%? What belongs to them and what to me?"

From that place, you can care deeply without leaving your center.

If you'd like to experience this work directly, I'd love to invite you to a free live guided Qi practice on July 21st at 6:00 p.m. EST.

We'll explore these principles together, not just as ideas, but as something you can begin to experience in your own Body-Mind-Spirit system.

Here’s the shortcut to coming into a healthy relationship with anger…

💾 Make sure you save this so you can practice these steps.

✨Step 1: Acknowledge that you are in a learning phase.

Give yourself some grace and know that it will be messy for a while. Just try to beat your last record.

✨Step 2: Differentiate the present from the past.

That person’s unhealthy expression of anger you witnessed as a kid is different than you cleanly stating that you feel angry.

Really make a mind shift around — That was then and this is now.

✨Step 3: Assert a Statement of Will.

Say out loud:

“I want to know what it is like and that it is safe to be in relationship with healthy anger.”

✨Step 4: Prepare for the Outer World

Tap your fingertips together and say out loud:

“ I feel really angry.” And notice that you can feel angry and nothing bad is happening.

You know that partner, that job, that decision you made that was never really a good fit? Do you look back and wonder - what was I thinking??

Learning how to trust your intuition can save you so much time and energy! Be sure to save this post - you’re going to want to practice this later. 💾

Here are the 3 simple steps to learn to trust your intuition:

1. Notice the difference between the:

Thinking mind (hint: it’s the voice in your head that’s loud, assertive, interrupting, warning you what could go wrong)

Inner voice (softer, quiet background presence, more objective, less emotional)

2. Ask your body - it has more direct access to your intuition and inner guidance. When you have a decision to make:

Hold each option in your mind (without allowing your thinking mind to interfere)

Does it feel expansive and light? That is a sign that this could be in alignment for you.

If it feels contractive, heavy, pit-in-the-stomach kind of gut response, this option is probably not a great fit for you.

3. Repeat - the more you practice asking your body, the more tuned in you will be to the ways your body communicates with you and you will build stronger trust and reliance on your intuition.

Making the shift to trusting your intuition can help you on your path to living the life of your dreams. If you are ready to make this a reality, without years of therapy or endless self help seminars…

Dealing with difficult people can be a real challenge no matter how sensitive you are. 🙃 And as highly sensitive empaths, it can be so uncomfortable that we will do just about anything to avoid difficult people altogether. 🙅🏽‍♀️ 🙆🏽‍♀️ The good news is that there are things you can do to help you break the cycle of avoidance and feel free to be yourself no matter how difficult someone is.

The first step is always to address the part of yourself that is getting triggered. There is some trapped trauma connected to the situation on the surface.

Do you ever feel guilty and just can’t release it? We all experience guilt from time to time and we actually should feel guilty if we have done something that warrants it. But if you haven’t done something “wrong,” you are experiencing shame, and that requires a deeper level of healing and guidance to help you uncover and navigate the often sneaky feelings of unworthiness under the surface.

If this resonates with you, I am so glad you are here! That means that we have some work to do together to help you release the trauma that is trapped in your body so you can be who you truly are - without the subtle body blocks that have been in the way.
