After-School All-Stars of New York The mission of After-School All-Stars (ASAS) is to provide comprehensive after-school programs that keep children safe, inspire them to learn, and help them succeed in school and life.

Founded in 1992 by Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Inner-City Games Foundation initially sought to create opportunities for at-risk youth in Los Angeles. By 2002, the organization had evolved into After-School All-Stars (ASAS), with a renewed commitment to academic excellence and life success. Today, ASAS is a national powerhouse, serving 78,000 young people annually through comprehensive in-school, after-school, and summer programs in 13 cities across the U.S.

The New York chapter, After-School All-Stars New York (ASASNY), reaches over 2,500 students through New York City. Our innovative programs empower young people to achieve academic success, develop life skills, and build a strong foundation for a bright future. This progress is made possible by the continued support of government and foundation partners.

Headquartered in lower Manhattan, ASASNY remains at the forefront of creating meaningful change and opening doors for underserved youth across New York City. We’re proud to stand as a catalyst for transformation in our community.

Our hearts are full of gratitude to Lizzo for joining us at Uncommon Kings Elementary School to share her children's book, 'Lil Lizzo Meets Sasha B. Flootin'! This afternoon inspired our scholars to explore their passions and reach for the stars. ✨

Every student left with their very own copy of the book. The perfect way to kick off the school year with excitement around literacy! 📚

One week. One campus. A new generation of leaders. 🌟

Two of our ASAS NY scholars, along with Senior Program Director Mr. Williams, joined student leaders from After-School All-Stars chapters nationwide for ASLU 2026 in California, a week centered on "A Space Linking Us."

From leadership workshops and career exploration to team-building and Passion Projects, our scholars came home with new skills, new friendships, and a stronger voice to create change in their community. 💪
