It happened!

Something is always buzzing at STEM Hive, on Friday, May 14th we had Career Discovery Day as part of our Spring 2021 Virtual Program.

Part of our mission is to expose students to careers they may not even know exist such as:

🩺Pediatric Endocrinologist

We had five amazing professionals join us to share their unique professional journeys with our students. We’ll be highlighting ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ their bios next!

Students had the opportunity to get to know each volunteer, ask them about their day-to-day, question the smaller things that we don’t really think about, get inspired, and learn that a career is not always a straight line — just enjoy the journey.

We are always blown away by our students’ passion, knowledge, and curiosity! Last week,

📌Friday March 19th marked the 1st day of our Spring 2021 Workshop, how exciting!

Week #1: Students dived into non-renewable energy sources looking at the effects on the climate and animals around the world. We learned about careers within this field such an environmental engineer, who uses solar ☀️, wind 🌬, biofuels 👩🏽‍🔬energy to produce alternative fuels.

📌Viernes 19 de Marzo marcó el primer día de nuestro taller de primavera de 2021, ¡qué emocionante!

Semana # 1: Los estudiantes se sumergieron en fuentes de energía no renovables y observaron los efectos sobre el clima y los animales en todo el mundo. Aprendimos sobre carreras dentro de este campo, como un ingeniero ambiental que usa energía solar ☀️, eólica 🌬, biocombustibles 👩🏽‍🔬 para producir combustibles de energía alternativos.

Application open for children ages 8-13 to dive into an interactive experience learning science, technology and engineering. Each child will be sent a STEM kit with materials and tools to make their experience hands-on.
