CBP Seizes Over 32,000 Unapproved Prescription Medicines in Philadelphia Enforcement Action
CBP officers in Philadelphia have seized more than 32,000 unapproved prescription tablets that were illegally shipped from Europe and destined for an address in Georgia. The shipments were falsely manifested to conceal their contents and included controlled substances such as tramadol, lorazepam, diazepam, alprazolam, and zolpidem.
Officials confirmed the medicines were not approved for entry into the United States and highlighted serious public health risks associated with unverified and improperly imported pharmaceuticals, including potential contamination and safety concerns.

CBP Guidance Update: Section 232 Duties on USMCA-Qualifying Medium- and Heavy-Duty Vehicles
CBP has issued new guidance on the application of Section 232 duties under Proclamation 10984 for USMCA-qualifying medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. The 25% ad valorem duty will apply exclusively to the value of the non-U.S. content for approved imports, while the U.S. content, when properly reported and approved by the Department of Commerce, remains subject to a 0% additional duty.
Importers and filers must report these vehicles using a two-line entry structure in ACEβone line for the non-U.S. content subject to Section 232 duties under HTSUS 9903.74.03, and a second line for the U.S. content under HTSUS 9903.74.06. Accurate valuation breakdown, proper SPI coding, and matching HTSUS and country of origin reporting are required for compliance. Read more here:

π» CBP Launches CAPE Tool in ACE Portal
CBP has launched the first phase of the CAPE tool within the ACE Portal, allowing importers and authorized Customs Brokers to submit CAPE declarations electronically through their ACE accounts.
CAPE is designed to streamline the refund process for IEEPA duties, including interest, by consolidating refunds instead of processing them entry by entry. Phase 1 currently applies to certain unliquidated entries and entries within 80 days of liquidation.
