Oh, what a night!
The 2026 annual gala was absolutely gorgeous because of all of you! We are still radiating from all the love in the room last night as we recognized our extraordinary head of school, Stephanie Ives, for a decade of the generative leadership that creates our communal home. We are so grateful to every person who helped make last night meaningful and oh so memorable — thank you to the amazing alumni👩🎓🧑🎓, parents and grandparents for joining us, to our unbelievable staff, to the BRDS Makela (choir), and to Tali, Rachel, Lev, Stacey, Liza, Sharon, Alexis, Meggie, Yehuda, Emmitt, Nina, Carissa, Emily, Nicole, our wonderful caterer and talented photographer , our alumni artist Lexi Lewis, and .us —
(Let’s do this again next year 😉, shall we?)

Arrival this morning included a gallery of all the incredible student art (and games!) created for our raffle this year. Today’s fan favorite was Garinim/Kindergarten’s bespoke Guess Who — students loved finding themselves in the game!
Want to bid on the raffle or our silent auction? Sure you do! (Link in comments).

As we prepared for Shavuot, the children of Gan Sagol (pré-k) explored the Aseret HaDibrot (Ten Commandments) through thoughtful conversation about kindness, responsibility, honesty, respect and caring for others. Inspired by the book The 11th Commandment: Wisdom from our Children, the class wondered: if we could add one more commandment, what would it be?
Each child created their own page for our book, using words and illustration — and the resulting collection celebrates their creativity, humor and a growing understanding of how we care for ourselves, one another, and the world around us.

Hooray for Someone Special Day at Beit Rabban! We loved having all of our “special someones” join classes for collaborative learning and singing together at Shabbat B’Yachad. Thanks so much to all of our guests for coming!

Last night, our Ntzanim (5th) and Prachim (6th) students presented at Anu: Beit Rabban’s Heritage Museum, and wow, was it gorgeous. Using the essential questions of “Who Am I?” and “Where Do I Come From?” as their guide, students undertook a journey to understand their family histories. They chose a single artifact and, by interviewing family members, conducting research, and honing skills of observation and inference, discovered how compelling a narrative one object can tell. Our student curators created museum exhibits to showcase their artifacts, and prepared remarks to share their learning with rapt audiences. Last night’s guests also enjoyed “Where I’m From” poetry written by the students, after George Ella Lyon’s famous 1993 poem “Where I’m From,” in honor of , and artwork created by students after they researched their own Hebrew names.
A special thank you to Meggie and Sarah, our wonderful Humanities teachers, and our deepest gratitude to all the ancestors that brought our students to tell the stories they told last night.
