Join us for our event “Elections Aftermath: Exploring Opportunities and Challenges in U.S.-Japan Relations” on Monday, November 18th, from 9AM-4PM in Pulitzer Hall. This event will be apart of our 75th Anniversary Event Series and is in collaboration with Keio University.
This full-day conference will convene top experts on East Asian and global politics to explore the challenges and opportunities arising from leadership transitions in both Tokyo and Washington and discuss how the two allies can shape the security and political dynamics of the Korean Peninsula, in Southeast Asia, across the Taiwan Strait, and the International Order. Join us as we examine how the U.S.-Japan partnership can navigate these complexities and shape a cooperative future in an increasingly intricate global landscape.

Friends of ISEAS - Pleased to host Prof Lien-Hang Nguyen, Director of the Weatherhead East Asian Institute at Columbia University University, and her team at ISEAS today. They were traveling around the region as part of WEAI’s 75th Anniversary Summer Series. They met up with Dr Terence Chong and Dr Norshahril Saat to discuss Southeast Asian research, our different missions, and US domestic politics.

Ambassador Mori 🇯🇵, together with Consul General Kim Euy Whan 🇰🇷, attended a Japan-Korea student dialogue hosted by the Weatherhead East Asian Institute at Columbia University. Moderated by Prof. Lien-Hang Nguyen, the discussion was very fruitful and meaningful on all aspects of future Japan-Korea and Japan-U.S.-Korea relations, including security, economics, and culture. The two Consul Generals expressed their admiration for the students' positive engagement and look forward to further developing warm ties between Japan and Korea from New York City. 🗽
