Félicitations à la Promotion 2026 ! 🎓✨

Yesterday, our community gathered at Alice Tully Hall to celebrate the graduation of our Terminale students, a shared moment of joy marking the end of an unforgettable chapter and the beginning of a new one.

The ceremony brought together families, friends, teachers, and many voices from across the Lycée community, including Head of School Jérémie Bourdon, Head of High School Maxime Dubray, faculty members Xavier de Boissezon, Christopher McCauley, Sébastien Callegari, and Joëlle Reilly, Director of Global Engagement Andrew Stephens, Board Member Magalie Laguerre-Wilkinson ‘89, and Consul General of France in New York Cédrik Fouriscot.

Representing their class, student speakers Laya T. and Zayd A. shared how their Lycée education has empowered them to build their lives: “Cette école nous a appris que nous avons le pouvoir d'être les historiens de nos propres vies."

The graduation ceremony was also marked by the moving speech of Director of Elementary School Nadine Kaston. As she prepares to retire after decades of dedication to the Lycée, she reminded graduates of the invisible legacy they carry with them long after they leave: "Ce que vous avez vécu ici ne s'effacera pas. Cela s'inscrit dans vos mots, dans votre façon de penser, dans le regard même que vous portez sur le monde."

Bonne route, chers T’26 ! We wish you the most wonderful adventures ahead, and we are excited to welcome you to the alumni family!

As Jérémie Bourdon highlighted, "les plus belles aventures humaines ne se vivent jamais seuls.”

What a week at the 2026 Jeux de la ZAN!

We extend our congratulations and thanks to all of the students, referees, educators, and participating schools who came together for an unforgettable week at Camp Pontiac. The Jeux de la ZAN once again showcased the energy, commitment, and spirit of the North American network of French schools.

A special congratulations to our Lycée Lynx! We are proud to share that the Lycée finished first overall, with our CM2/Y5 and 6e/Y6 student-athletes earning top honors throughout the competition, including victories in the biathlon and ultimate frisbee.

Beyond the competitions, the Jeux de la ZAN gave students the opportunity to take on new roles and responsibilities. Throughout the week, student journalists documented the experience through interviews, photography, videos, and daily reporting, helping share stories and highlights directly from Camp Pontiac!

Un grand merci to our students, teachers and staff, chaperones, as well as the Ligue AEFE-UNSS en Amérique du Nord and all participating schools, for making this year's Jeux de la ZAN such a success. Quelle semaine inoubliable !

A new chapter for the Lycée ✨

Last week, we launched the school’s 2026-2031 Strategic Plan: "Ponts vers l’avenir - Building for the Future."

Rooted in 90 years of bilingual excellence, the Strategic Plan reflects a shared vision for the future of the Lycée, shaped through three years of reflection and collaboration among students, families, faculty, staff, alumni, trustees, and friends of the school.

Structured in five key pillars, the Strategic Plan focuses on strengthening bilingual academic excellence and innovation; fostering student belonging, well-being and flourishing; cultivating courageous citizens for an interconnected world, empowering educators, and building for the future through an expanded campus.

Looking ahead, exciting new additions – including expanded human-centered STEM and innovation spaces, a new Center for Student Épanouissement (Flourishing) and the Lycée’s very own High Line – will create even more opportunities for students to learn, connect, and flourish.

Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, ideas, and dedication over the past several years to help bring this vision to life.

Special recognition and merci to Dean Amro, who is preparing to step down as Chair of the Board, for his many years of dedicated leadership, service, and commitment to the Lycée. “Fantastic Beasts” took over the 6th floor gallery last night as Mr. Campanella’s 6e/Y6 classes celebrated a semester of art and design! 🦁

Throughout the spring, students brought their own mythical creatures to life through painting and sculpture, inspired by their own original stories they created in their French and Art classes. Connected across multiple disciplines, this art exhibition explored mythology, ancient history, and literature through both visual arts and creativity.

Every student has a piece on display throughout the month of June. Stop by the 6th floor gallery to discover their work!

Last week our CP/Y1 students dove into the world of "popping” with dancers Pascal Luce and SonYa as a part of our Artist in Residence program!

Inspired by different fairy tales and characters, each class created its own choreography while exploring this dynamic street dance style that originated in the 1960s. From Pinocchio, scarecrows, and Little Red Riding Hood to robots, students got into costume and explored a new style of dance, learning how movement and expression can bring stories to life. Students even helped make some of their own costumes in art class!

Throughout the week, Pascal Luce and SonYa worked closely with each class, helping our young dancers build confidence and develop their choreography in preparation for a special End of Year Show for their families.

That's a wrap on our Spring Sports season!

Last week, we celebrated our student-athletes at the Spring Athletic Awards Ceremony.

From Middle School Tennis completing the first undefeated season in program history, to standout performances in Track & Field, Volleyball, and Tennis, our athletes represented the Lycée with solidarité-community and ténacité-commitment all season long. Varsity Boys Volleyball continued another successful season competing in the NYCAL and the NYSAIS statewide finals, while this spring also marked the launch of our new JV Boys Volleyball team, another exciting step for our growing athletics program.

This year’s ceremony was especially meaningful as we also honored Director of Athletics John Burpoe, who is retiring after 15 years of dedicated service to the Lycée community. Over the years, he helped build an athletics program where two-thirds of our Secondary students now participate in one or more of our 43 competitive teams, creating opportunities for generations of student-athletes to thrive.

We are proud to announce a new award in his honor: The John Burpoe Award for Most Improved Senior Athlete, recognizing the perseverance, commitment, and growth that have long defined Lycée athletics.

Bravo to all of our coaches and athletes for an incredible season. And thank you, John, for your dedication. 👏

Shouting out our Track & Field teams!

As the spring season comes to a close, we congratulate all of our student-athletes on an incredible season marked by growth, effort, and personal achievement.

Our Sixth Grade and Middle School teams showed incredible progress this year, with many athletes improving their times at every meet. Our Boys and Girls Varsity Teams also delivered strong performances throughout the season, consistently improving and achieving competitive results across events.

Reflecting on this year’s season, Varsity Coach Eric Cielenou shared:

“Track and field is often called the mother of all sports because it is an individual discipline with a powerful team dimension. As we continue to build our program, many of our athletes are already achieving personal bests across events, and we see victory in every step forward, because we value the process over the outcome. Sport is one of the few universal languages that transcends borders, cultures, and differences. It binds us together and reminds us of our shared humanity.”
