🎨 Applications are open for Youth Insights (YI) Artists at the Whitney Museum! / ¡Convocatoria abierta!

The Whitney Museum of American Art is accepting applications for Youth Insights (YI) Artists, a free semester-long after-school program for NYC high school students in grades 9–12.

Participants will work with contemporary artists and museum educators, explore different artmaking techniques, discuss current issues, meet other creative teens, and create original artwork that will be presented in a final exhibition at the Whitney Museum.

🎨 No previous art experience required

El Whitney Museum of American Art abre su convocatoria para Youth Insights (YI) Artists, un programa extracurricular gratuito de un semestre para estudiantes de secundaria de la ciudad de Nueva York, de 9.Âş a 12.Âş grado.

Los participantes trabajarán con artistas contemporáneos y educadores del museo, aprenderán distintas técnicas artísticas, conversarán sobre temas de actualidad, conocerán a otros jóvenes creativos y crearán una obra original que será presentada en una exhibición final en el Whitney Museum.

OLMO is a heartfelt coming-of-age story about family, responsibility, and the difficult choices that shape us. Set in 1979 New Mexico, the film follows 14-year-old Olmo as he struggles to balance caring for his bedridden father with the desire to experience the carefree moments of adolescence. When an invitation to a party offers him a chance to escape, Olmo embarks on a journey that ultimately reveals the true meaning of family.

The Greenpoint Film Festival returns for its 15th anniversary from August 5–9 in Brooklyn, celebrating bold independent cinema under this year's theme, "Unbound – Celebrating the Freedom to Tell Untold Stories." The festival features five days of screenings, filmmaker Q&As, industry panels, networking events, and community celebrations.

We are especially excited that the festival will open with the Mexican feature film Café Chairel, bringing Mexican cinema to the forefront as the opening film of this milestone edition.
