A South Asian Muslim man was violently attacked and injured shortly after arriving at the Islamic Cultural Center of New York on April 19 in Manhattan, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) says.

A hotel receptionist in California, shouted “Free Palestine” at an Israeli tourist as she was leaving, prompting her to return and argue with him.

The exchange escalated into a heated verbal confrontation about Zionism, during which the tourist identified herself as a Zionist.

Hawaa Abdullah stood before cameras yesterday with around a dozen family members beside her, many in tears, to remember her father, Amin Abdullah, the security guard killed shielding 140 children at the Islamic Centre of San Diego.

Her father was one of three men who died protecting worshippers from two teenage gunmen.

She recited verses from the Quran. Then she spoke. “He was the absolute best dad in the world. He was my protector.”
