Global Citizen Global Citizen is a movement using its collective voice to end extreme poverty by 2030. We don't ask people for money, but to take action for the world’s poor.

Global Citizens learn about the causes of extreme poverty, take action, and earn rewards for their actions as part of a global community committed to lasting change. We are an advocacy organization dedicated to ending extreme poverty by 2030. We do this by encouraging people to learn and take action on our platform; those actions apply pressure on world leaders to make commitments around the issues associated with extreme poverty: gender equality, food security, education, the environment, global health, citizenship, and sanitation. These actions can be as simple as a tweet, signing a petition, making a phone call, or sending an email. By taking action, these Global Citizens are rewarded with access and tickets to our music festivals and other events around the world. So far, 24.8 million actions have been taken by Global Citizens, leading to $48.4 billion commitments being made by world leaders, which has affected 880 million lives to date.

What an amazing first day in Perth!

We started with Morning Tea, bringing together leaders and partners to talk through the priorities we’re carrying into the summit.

By evening, we’d moved to the beautiful The University of Western Australia for the Welcome Reception, where speakers, attendees, partners, and stakeholders kept those conversations going.

The week is off to a strong start, and there’s plenty more ahead over the next few days at hashtag : Perth!
