REHC provides a network for Columbia community members from rural areas and/or interested in rurality, as well as furthers research and programming on rural education and healthcare issues.
Our 5th Annual Rural Education & Healthcare Symposium was a success! Each session was filled with great participation, including lots of Q&A and group discussion. THANK YOU to all who helped plan and facilitate the symposium, as well as to those who attended!!
We look forward to closing out the semester with our last REHC meeting of the academic year. This will take place this Tuesday, April 26th from 5:00pm-6:00pm via Zoom (https://teacherscollege.zoom.us/j/93694873125). During this meeting, we will be celebrate the year and host REHC Officer Elections to elect the offices below. Please come prepared to this meeting to have someone nominate you or to nominate yourself for a position and to give a brief speech about why you'd want that position. We will then have folx vote via a secure Google Form that only the current officers can see.
Executive Chair: Be the chief executive of the organization; preside over meetings of the organization; appoint committees or commissions that are deemed necessary; call special meetings of the organization; meet monthly with advisor; take care that this constitution and the laws of the student body are faithfully executed; act as primary contact and liaison with the institution; facilitate the Executive Board election process; coordinate and oversee the E-board and committee.
Associate Chair: Assume Executive Chair's duties in their absence, schedule meetings/practice rooms/facilities, plan member/officer training programs as needed; delegate and oversee major projects; make sure event registration and event evaluation forms are completed when needed; report to the Executive Chair.
Administrative Chair: Manage budget and fundraising efforts, take and distribute group meeting notes, design and sell merchandise; keep all financial records, notify organization of financial issues, prepares budget/allocation requests; report to the Executive Chair.

Register for the University of Georgia's second annual virtual rural student success conference: Exploring Rural Student Identity in America: An unConference on Practice, Research, and Innovation.
Guided by this theme, the 2022 unConference will focus on three core areas: rural student identity, policy impacting rural students, and inclusive curricular and co-curricular pedagogy for the rural student community in higher education. There will be keynote addresses by national experts in these three areas, and opportunities for participants to discuss these topics and more in breakout discussion sessions.

Hello Rural Education & Healthcare Coalition (REHC) Members,
Welcome back to campus - be it either physically or virtually! As this year’s REHC leadership team, we are excited to welcome both returning and new members, as well as anyone interested in learning more about REHC!
We will be meeting virtually on Zoom for the fall semester. We hope this gives all members and those interested the opportunity to participate in REHC. Our first meeting will be on Thursday, September 23rd from 5:00-6:00pm ET.
