This is the time of year when we get to celebrate our CHamP Lab members who are continuing on to their exciting new journeys! Congratulations to our newest doc, Dr. Annie Fanta! And also congratulations to many of our research team who are continuing their careers at amazing places like UC Irvine, George Washington University, Loyola University Chicago, and the AI industry. Our findings indicate that Asian American parents’ cultural and racial experiences shape the different ways they discuss race with their children.

School context matters, but not equally for all youth. Our findings suggest that school climate, peer relationships, and ethnic/racial identity may shape mental health differently for monoracial and multiracial adolescents.

Join Dr. Huang at the Lotus Project’s workshop on mental health for Asian American/Asian children and families in NYC! She’ll be part of a panel discussion (Session 3, 1:30 - 3:00PM) on youth mental health, covering topics like youth-focused treatment and prevention programs, communication between caregivers and youth, su***de prevention, and more. The workshop takes place on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM at Kimball Hall Lobby (246 Green St, New York, NY 10003).
