The Master's Program in International Political Economy and Development of Fordham Univerisity (Fordham IPED), New York

Fordham University's Master of Arts in International Political Economy and Development (Fordham IPED) is a 12 course curriculum designed primarily for future and present professionals involved with international economic issues as policy analysts and administrators. Our students usually find employment as financial analysts and economists in business; as policy analysts, economists and program managers in government; or as project managers in the non-profit sector.

Denise Tollinche Receives the John F. Hurley, S.J. Commendation 05/26/2026

On April 16, Fordham IPED proudly presented the John F. Hurley, S.J. Commendation to Denise Tollinche in recognition of her dedication to philanthropy, sustainable development, and the mission of Catholic Relief Services.

With experience in global grantmaking, donor engagement, and development research, Denise’s work has advanced initiatives in education, public health, agriculture, energy, gender equity, and climate change. Her commitment to service and global impact reflects the values embodied by Fr. John F. Hurley, S.J. and the Fordham University community.

On April 16, Fordham IPED proudly honored Mr. Jason Endaya (IPED ’10), Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Specialist for Asia at Catholic Relief Services, as this year’s Swanstrom-Baerwald Award recipient.

With nearly two decades of humanitarian experience supporting development and emergency programming across Asia and beyond, Jason’s career reflects a deep commitment to international peace, development, and service to vulnerable communities around the world.

The Swanstrom-Baerwald Award celebrates members of the Fordham University community who exemplify leadership through the promotion of faith, justice, and global development. We are proud to recognize Jason’s outstanding contributions and continued impact in the humanitarian field.

Sydney Clapham's (IPED 2027) Work as a Program Coordinator for the Fordham Road BID 04/24/2026

Sydney Clapham (Fordham IPED 2027) is a community program coordinator for the Fordham Road Business Improvement District.

Her main responsibilities include monitoring policies that affect local businesses, planning events, managing social media engagement, and conducting business outreach.

During her time with the BID, she has helped boost social media engagement by 50% and has begun creating videos that highlight local businesses.

She has also gained valuable experience in supporting the growth of businesses in the Bronx and utilizing tools such as Pacer AI to enhance business development.

Sydney Clapham's (IPED 2027) Work as a Program Coordinator for the Fordham Road BID Sydney Clapham, a Fordham Road BID coordinator, supports local Bronx businesses through outreach, events, and social media growth, boosting engagement by 50%.

Khulan Battulga (IPED 2027) - Spes Nova NGO Internship 04/21/2026

Khulan Battulga (Fordham IPED 2027), a Presidential Fellow, works with Spes Nova. Spes Nova is a nonprofit dedicated to promoting sustainable and inclusive development across low-income communities worldwide.

Through her role, she collaborates with students to connect with artisans in developing countries, helping identify products, build partnerships, and develop market strategies. She also works with the Fordham University Spes Nova Club to bring these products to campus, creating real market access for artisans while promoting fair and sustainable trade.

Her work continues to bridge global communities and support economic opportunity through inclusive development.

Cassidy Fawcett (IPED 2026) presented her research on foreign direct investment (FDI) and economic inequality in Francophone Africa at the Fifth CISEPS Annual Workshop 2026 at the University of Milano-Bicocca.

Supported by Fordham IPED, this milestone experience allowed her to engage with leading scholars in economic inequality and public finance.

IPED March Events: MET Visit and Panel on the Future of International Cooperation 04/13/2026

IPED students engaged in a dynamic month of learning this March.

On March 20, students visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art as part of their International Economic Policy course, exploring the evolution of global trade through historical artifacts.

On March 30, students attended “The Future of International Cooperation” panel in partnership with Young Professionals in Foreign Policy, featuring distinguished speakers and a discussion on the changing landscape of global cooperation.

Experiences like these continue to connect classroom learning with real-world insights.
