We are excited to welcome Emily to the LISM faculty! Emily teaches Voice and Piano. To register for lessons with Emily please email us at [email protected]

Emily is a singer and educator based on Long Island. She is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan’s choral music education program. Emily is unique in her equal ability to perform and teach multiple styles of voice, including classical, pop, musical theatre, and jazz. She is passionate about creating well-rounded musicians by incorporating various ways of learning and creating music, whether that be visually, physically, aurally, or creatively. Emily is also dedicated to prioritizing well-being in the performing arts, an interest acquired through her work at the University of Michigan’s performing arts wellness program. This fall, she will be starting a graduate degree in special education at Columbia University to supplement her experiences as an aide, paraprofessional, and music teacher in the field. Emily believes that music is for everyone and that anyone can become a musician. Her teaching philosophy is focused on ensuring all students feel represented, welcomed, and like they belong. She is dedicated to teaching diverse musical artists and repertoire to her students and creating supportive, brave, and facilitated spaces of learning. By utilizing a student-centered teaching approach, Emily encourages a lifelong love and appreciation for music. Emily is excited to join the LISM faculty where she will teach voice and piano!
