Sadness fills the air, as we lost one of the greatest artists of the 20th century- Melvin Edwards.
We often work with artists who knew and worked with Bob- so we know we can learn more from those who were there.
Recently, Mel came to the Workshop to make benefit editions with Jazmine Catasús. He said that Bob was a good friend, the Workshop helped him and so many people. It gave him joy to make something new to support us.
Thank you Mel for sharing time with us- hearing about from your travels to a print studio in Island of Goree, Senegal - Souleymane Keita who ran it and your friendship with Dumile Feni. You will not be forgotten.
