On DIVAS we will touch on the topics that matter most to us women and finally see that we are not alone...we need and have each other even when we don’t feel like we do! The DIVAS in the Making Foundation is an organization/ministry that God has laid in my heart to be an outreach to the female youth of today. As a foundation we will be striving to teach young girls and young women alike how to fall in love with Jesus, learn to love themselves, and love others genuinely. Provide different lessons, phases of growth and group communication that will cater to the young girl of today to help them become the women of God that He has created them to be. The organization/ministry will provide services to girls between 10-21 years of age. Beginning with the young ladies in our home church and expanding it out to neighboring subdivisions and communities within the Greater Houston area. With special emphasis on low income families and providing the young girls an outlet to be able to learn, experience something different and express their feelings. There a many reasons as to why this ministry is important to me and why I believe God has given me this mission. Being a product of a broken home and not having my father around during my most important years of my life…I empathize with young girls that have the same instability that I endured for a very long time and want to able to provide them with the encouragement and tools that they do and will need in order to overcome and not fall suspect to the traps and snares that the devil has, does, and will lay out. But I want to do it with the tools that I did not have and with a relationship with God. We are rapidly losing our young ladies to the stigma that society has placed on their lives based on what magazine, rap artists, TV shows, etc. As a former young girl, a wife, a mother and a daughter of God growing up in one of the roughest and toughest neighborhoods in Brooklyn, N.Y.; it has been laid on my heart to play a role in winning souls for his kingdom one young girl at a time. DIVAS will coordinate a 7 Phase program where each member will go through for 14-21 weeks. There will be a recognition ceremony at the end of the program for each of the young ladies.
