About this event:

Class/Lesson #1

Date: Tuesday, JUNE 16th, 2026

Time: 5:00-6:30 PM

Learn glass fusing fundamentals, basics regarding materials, supplies, safety and glass studio practices and safety.

Learn how to clean and cut glass professionally.

Make glass “part sheets” using real Italian silver foil, glass powders and coarse crushed glass.

Create a base for small landscape pendants.

Class/Lesson #2

Date: Tuesday, JUNE 23rd, 2026

Time: 5:00-6:30 PM

Glass “part sheets” and landscapes will be fired and out of the glass kiln.

Learn how to cut up the glass and silver sheets to create glass pyramids for part 2.

Add Dichroic glass accents.

Class/Lesson #3

Date: Tuesday JUNE 30th, 2026

Time: 5:00-6:30 PM

Use diamond disk grinders, dill press, lap bands, and a wet saw to “cold work” and shape pendants into their final form.

Continue to work on landscape pendants.

Class/Lesson #4

Date: Tuesday, JULY 7TH, 2026

Time: 5:00-6:30 PM

Learn Advanced Fusing techniques

Add glass decals consisting of various colors and 23K gold and/or add glass enamel embellishments to your designs.

Choose silver, stainless steel or gold plated finery to finish glass jewelry.

No glass fusing or glass cutting experience required. The perfect gift to yourself or someone special. Tools, basic glass cutting, and kiln forming theory covered. No experience necessary! All the supplies are prepared for class so you can focus on learning the skills to create your personalized pieces. This is an ideal place for students at any level to learn in a relaxed and supportive setting. All glass work will be gift boxed with a ribbon ready for Gifting. Have a fun afternoon creating your own fused glass, jewelry. Create a special jewelry line your family will cherish for years to come. We look forward to seeing you!

In Memoriam: Brother Thomas Grady, O.S.F.

We prayerfully remember Brother Thomas Grady, O.S.F., who entered Eternal Life peacefully on May 21, 2026, after 62 years as a Franciscan Brother.

Brother Thomas lived a life of faithful service, education, leadership, and fraternity. His ministry included teaching at St. Francis Prep, serving in prison ministry, leading formation, and holding several leadership roles within the Congregation, including Superior General. He also served on the boards of Saint Anthony’s High School, St. Francis Prep, St. Francis College, and several Franciscan organizations.

A gifted leader, mentor, artist, and Brother, Brother Thomas helped advance the Franciscan mission locally and globally, always rooted in faith, justice, and the spirit of St. Francis.

We give thanks for his life, his example, and his many years of service.

Interment is at Holy Cross Cemetery, 3620 Tilden Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11203. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a memorial donation to the Franciscan Brothers.
