The Summer Edition of the Grad News is in the email and it features a remembrance of those we lost on September 11, 2001.

We promised then that we would never forget. And a quarter century later there are 100 million Americans who are too young to remember the day that changed our city and nation forever. This reality places a meaningful responsibility on us to honor our promise and never forget by preserving the stories of courage and sacrifice.

Prep will be united in prayer this morning in remembrance of all those members of the Prep community whose lives were tragically cut short or forever transformed 25 years ago.

Bishop Brennan said, “On Sunday, I celebrated Mass at the Our Lady of Angels Friary with the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn. The Mass and visit was part of the Jubilee Year of Saint Francis, commemorating the 800th Anniversary of his death. I spoke to the Franciscan Brothers during Mass saying that through them, St. Francis continues to inspire generations of people to follow Jesus. This year is a special blessing that has captured the hearts of many by the Franciscan spirituality.”

UPDATE: Our prayers were answered…Fr. Bill Sweeney has made some great progress with his mobility and physical strength. His brother took him out to the mall and took this picture. (It was posted on his parish’s page.) Way to go Fr. Bill!! Keep up the good efforts!
