New York's teachers and the communities we serve deserve a healthcare system that puts patients over profits. The New York Health Act would guarantee that every teacher and student in the state would have access to universal, comprehensive healthcare. It is well past time for lawmakers in Albany to pass the New York Health Act!

The subject for this GA is school budget organizing at the chapter level. We will have some political ed about budget/austerity cycles, and hear from community members and rank-and-file members about what chapter-level budget campaigns can look like.

We're also encouraging members to bring a copy of their school budget so we can do some analysis at the meeting. If you're a CL you can ask your principal for the SLT view of the budget.
