Tutoring With Stefani

Now that school has started, it is the perfect time to secure a tutor to help get your child back on track after a long almost 6 month break from school.

Here are some common Q & A's that we get from parents. Hope this helps :)

Who are you? : We are medical students studying to be doctors.

What credentials do you have? : Stefani was awarded a degree in psychology/child psychology. Ed was awarded a degree with the highest honor distinction in biomedical engineering. Both are currently in medical school studying to be doctors. Both have extensive training in science and math, specifically. Both are in the honor society at their medical school. Both are student teaching assistants at their medical school. Stefani has owned this private tutoring company for over a year and a half and has a successful client list of over 75 students.

What is your hourly rate? : $35 per hour for 1-3 hours. Anything over 3 hours will be discounted. We know times are hard and we know that the school system is a mess right now. We know that certain parents will need a longer day of tutoring assistance and we don't want you to have to break the bank.

Do you offer in person or remote? : We offer both! For families that are comfortable with in person sessions, we will still practice social distancing as much as possible and will wear a mask. For families who would prefer remote tutoring, we offer sessions through facetime, zoom, and microsoft teams.

What makes you different from other tutors? : First, we try to stay as affordable as possible. We have a locked in rate at $35 per hour for the first 3 hours. If our day ends up being longer than 3 hours, we offer a discounted rate for the day. Meaning, that if you know ahead of time that we will be with your child for a day 4 hours or longer, we will not charge 35 per hour, and will instead charge a complete day price of $130 (regardless of how long the day ends up being) Also, we use a point system with our younger children to keep them engaged and give them an incentive to sit with us. We know what its like to be a kid and have to sit with a tutor after doing school work. We know that they want to play with their friends or relax. We incorporate games into our tutoring sessions where your child is able to earn points each time we meet. After earning a certain number of points, we provide a prize to your child.

What are your hours? : Our schedules are completely flexible. We work with you to find the best times that work for you and your family.

Are you familiar with the DOE curriculum? : Although we are not DOE teachers, we are familiar with the DOE curriculum. We have access to the DOE curriculum that is set up for each grade and we follow it while tutoring your child. We create our own personalized questions, assignments, lesson plans, and quizzes that are based off of the DOE curriculum but fit your childs specific needs.

Do you work with special needs children? : We have experience working with autistic children, apraxic children, ADHD children, and more. Besides having experience tutoring them, we are educated about their conditions (being medical students) and know how to work with them. We are also CPR, BLS, and ACLS trained and certified.

Due to the pandemic we will be offering tele-tutoring via facetime, as well as in-person tutoring.

Happy June! Registration for our middle school bootcamp begins today!! Contact us today if you are interested in signing your child up for our 6th-8th grade 4 week summer bootcamp beginning on June 15th!

Hi all! Happy Memorial Day weekend! Hope you all are enjoying the beautiful weather. Due to the majority of working parents schedules, I am holding the incoming 6th-8th grade boot camp beginning on Friday June 14th for incoming 6th graders at 5:30pm, Saturday June 15th at 9am for incoming 7th graders, and Sunday June 16th at 9am for incoming 8th graders. Every Saturday and Sunday after that will be at 10am (fridays will still be at 5:30pm) It will run for 4 weeks! (Except for 4th of July weekend, there are no classes ! we will run until July 12-14th) please contact me if you are interested. Registration begins this week !

Good evening ! For children entering 6th, 7th or 8th grade: I am running a 4 week summer prep course beginning august 7th and ending august 28th. It will be on Tuesdays from 9:00-11:00am for incoming 6th graders, Wednesdays from 9:00am-11:00am for incoming 7th graders, Thursdays 9:00am-11:00am for incoming 8th graders at my forest ave location. I will provide breakfast. I am offering math, ELA, science and social studies prep all in one. I will be giving tests, study guides, notes, and more on the topics they will be learning this upcoming year. Will also be playing educational games each week, leading to a grand prize at the end. We are getting ready for our regents prep courses to begin tomorrow! Our students will be receiving a goodie bag filled with test prep materials such as study guides, reference table review packets, high yield terms and facts to know for the exam, and much more! Our students will be very well prepared for the regents examinations after attending our 8 week regents prep course 🙂 TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER! CLASSES BEGIN TOMORROW!
