This past Thursday and Friday, the SEA co-hosted the 14th Annual Energy Symposium in partnership with the CBS Energy Club, the Columbia Green Business Club, and the Engineering Energy Club, with support from sponsors such as NRG, Rystad Energy Group, West Monroe, Cosan, and of course the Center on Global Energy Policy and the EE Concentration!
We hosted a case competition where 11 teams from all over the country (including our very first international team from Mexico!) competed for a cash prize, and a career fair where recruiters from over 20 companies engaged with over 120 students looking for internships and full-time positions.
Friday's Symposium involved 6 panels from topics ranging from Electrification in Developing Countries, Energy Security, and Renewable Energy Investments. We also hosted a Venture Showcase on Friday where 5 early-mid energy start-ups made pitches to a panel of judges for a cash prize.
The Symposium was an opportunity for energy students, faculty, and professional to network, exchange ideas for the future of the energy sector, and foster meaningful connections. The event would not have been a success without the hard work and dedication of the Symposium student organizing committee and our partners and sponsors.
A huge thank you to all involved — we look forward to seeing you at next year's 15th Annual Energy Symposium!
