Do you know what usually stresses you out, my friends?

I've been reading more and more lately on how our bodies are affected by stress. How many chronic conditions and terminal diseases it could cause! It's scary!

And what's dangerous, we're often not even aware that we're stressed out.

Only in the last few years I started noticing how my body reacts to stress. And those reactions were the only signs I was stressed out.

Otherwise, I thought I was calm, having everything under control.

So, what I realized, the first step for me is to be honest with myself and admit I'm nervous, stressed or anxious.

Only after that I can do something about it.

And of course, we all know the ways to manage stress. But the problem is - we don't use this knowledge enough.

Exercise, healthy nutrition, regular sleep hours, the quality of sleep, and what's most important - strong social support network.

If you'd like to read a bit more on that, here are a few articles:

What comes to your mind when you hear these words by Viktor Frankl?

β€œBetween stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."

If you haven't heard about this prominent Austrian neurologist, psychologist and Holocaust survivor, I highly recommend his book Man's Search for Meaning.

It's been years since I read it. And when yesterday I was reminded of this outstanding man, this book is on my reading list again. It's time for a refresher.
