Last night marked my tenth performance at Carnegie Hall!

It came after three tough weeks, a nasty cold that turned into a stubborn case of laryngitis, all while this concert was looming large on the calendar. I wasn’t sure what my voice would do, but thanks to a lot of vocal rest, hydration, solid technique, and a little grace, I made it through successfully and was able to genuinely connect with the audience (truly one of the greatest feelings in the world).

I sang music by Massenet, Puccini, Gershwin, and selections from Les Misérables, and I’m incredibly thankful for the opportunity to share that with such a warm and gracious audience. Thank you Harmony Tours & Choirs of America for the invitation and opportunity.

A huge thank you also to the terrific tenor Matthew Plenk , and to the steady hand behind so much of my technique, Carol Vaness, for the foundation that carried me through.

As appreciative and deeply grateful as I am to once again perform on this majestic stage… I’ll be totally honest y’all, I’m really glad this one is behind me. lol

Bravi to Linda Maritza Collazo and Bin Yu Sanford, beautiful work tonight. It was a pleasure to share the stage with you both.

What an incredible night to remember!!

I’m delighted to say that the world premiere of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay was a tremendous success. The audience was amazing, extremely engaged, and gracious. Never have I heard crowd responses like that at the MAC before, it was absolutely electric!

A huge thank you to the cast, crew, creative and production teams, and everyone who made this evening possible. It was extraordinary to share this historic moment with such talented and inspiring individuals. It’s a night I’ll always cherish.

Here are some highlights from the show!

And just like that, the moment has arrived…

Tonight at 7:30 PM, the world premiere of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, the new opera by Mason Bates and Gene Scheer, takes the stage at the Musical Arts Center at Indiana University.

As the evening approaches, I find myself reflecting on what an extraordinary journey this has been—one that I will cherish forever. It has been a privilege and an honor to bring the character of Solomon Kavalier to life, working alongside an incredible cast, a stellar chorus, and phenomenal creative and production teams. I am profoundly grateful to Paula Suozzi, Michael Christie, Bartlett Sher, buscher, moore, Mason Bates, Scheer, and especially Indiana University Jacobs School of Music for the opportunity to be part of this historic moment.

A heartfelt thank you to Carl Vishnauskas, Matthew Plenk for guiding me through the process of re-learning how to sing after a 160-pound weight loss.

Thank you also to IU Opera and Ballet Theater, and Lamont Opera Theatre & Lamont School of Music, University of Denver. Your expertise, patience, and encouragement have been invaluable, enabling me to refine my craft and approach this premiere—and even the Metropolitan Opera—with confidence and ease. I am so grateful for everything you’ve done.

Here’s to an unforgettable evening and the start of something truly remarkable!

I just finished vocal masterclasses at queens college with the choral groups from this years crop at Choirs of America, and WoW! There were some tremendous voices! Many I expect you will hear more from in the coming years. Just beautiful. Keep up the wonderful work!

Also, I am privileged to say that I will be performing at Carnegie Hall tomorrow night where I will sing Pourqoui me reveiller, zueignung, and on the street where you live from my fair lady. You will also get to hear the beautiful Kellie Cullinan sing her face off, with maestro Fabio Bezuti accompanying! If you are in the city or close, this is a concert not to miss! What a great day!
