The #1-seeded LIONS face #2 Iona Prep for the CHSFL "AAA" championship today at Fordham University. Kickoff is at 2:30 pm.

The Lions finished the regular season undefeated in the league (6-0) and 9-1 overall, with their lone loss coming in week 3 at Delbarton (NJ).

As the #1 seed in the playoffs, Farrell earned a bye in the first round and then defeated Chaminade 34-3 last week in the semifinal game in The Den. Iona, the defending CHSFL champs, beat St. Anthony's 42-0 in their semifinal matchup.

Saturday's championship game will be a rematch of the week 7 regular season matchup when the Lions beat Iona, the #1-ranked team in NY State, 28-21 at Iona. MaxPreps continues to rank Iona #1 with Farrell #2 in the state, despite their loss to us in October.

New Date, Same Spirit: Monsignor Joseph A. Farrell Giving Day is Monday, June 9th! 🙏🦁

Out of respect for the recent passing of Pope Francis, we postponed our annual Giving Day traditionally held on Monsignor Joseph A. Farrell’s birthday April 29th.

This year, we will hold giving day on Monday, June 9th — the anniversary of Monsignor Joseph A. Farrell’s ordination — to celebrate his incredible legacy and support the future of Farrell.

To all of us, Monsignor Farrell means something deeply personal and special — and for our current and future generations, it continues to be a place of purpose, pride, and faith. Your support helps preserve the rich history and values we cherish, while propelling Farrell boldly into the future.

On this meaningful day, we come together as Vir Fidelis — Faithful Men — united in tradition and mission.

Every dollar makes a difference, and any gift — no matter the amount — helps Farrell remain at the cutting edge of Catholic education.

Please visit msgrfarrellhs.org/donate on Monday to support our giving day 🙏

Gone Bowling!

Congratulations to our football alumni who competed in college football bowl games this year.

University of Buffalo Head Football Coach Pete Lembo '88 and running back Messiah Burch '23 were victorious in the Bahamas Bowl, defeating Liberty University 26-7. This is Pete's first season as head coach at Buffalo and his third appearance in a bowl game as a head coach. He led Ball State to back-to-back bowl game appearances in 2012 (Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl) and 2013 (GoDaddy Bowl).

Kevin Coyle '74, the defensive coordinator for Fresno State, helped guide the Bulldogs to the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, dropping a heartbreaker to Northern Illinois 28-20 in double overtime. This is the 3rd consecutive bowl game that Kevin has coached in with Fresno State, winning the LA Bowl in 2022 and the New Mexico Bowl last year.

Go Lions!

Vir Fidelis Investing In Their Brothers’ Future 🦁💪📈

The Monsignor Farrell Business & Finance Institute was honored to welcome our brother alumni and Fidelis Investors co-founders, Brian Tortorella ‘93 and Mike Tessitore ‘98, along with Jake Dunn ‘18, who personifies their commitment to creating opportunities for fellow Lions.🦁 🤝

Jake’s journey from college intern to full-time team member at Fidelis Investors is a testament to the power of the Monsignor Farrell brotherhood and the invaluable mentorship of Brian and Mike.🙌

Speaking to a full house in the Brother Henry S. Wright Learning Commons, they shared insights on the traits, character, and work ethic required for success, while reflecting on how the Farrell experience shaped their professional paths.

We are forever grateful to the Vir Fidelis of Fidelis Investors for their unwavering generosity of time, talent, and treasure, opening doors for their brothers and lifting others as they rise.🙏
