🤔Just wanted to get on here and ask if anyone has gotten rude comments on their posts? I have and I don't appreciate it. Dealing with the nursing board and anything else related to addiction is hard enough without being called stupid. Didn't your momma teach you "if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all.”

📌Scope of Practice🩺

🏥I have been an LPN for 16 years; I have a very clear understanding of my scope of practice. I have been with this company for 1 year. In that time, there have been several instances that the physician and office manager have asked me to work outside of my scope, which I have refused. One issue that continues to come up if filling out FLMA paperwork. I understand that I can fill out the secretarial aspects of the paperwork, such as patient name, address, phone number, physician, name, phone number and address. The physician insists that I need to fill out the medical questions and all she has to do is sign the form. Please tell me if this is within my scope or not.

🗺️Are there some states monitoring that are more easy to work with than others?🔍

💡I understand all the states have generally similar programs, board orders, and requirements within their monitoring programs but are there some states that are known to be a bit more lenient, less restrictive, inexpensive, require less during the program, and even offer early dismissal? Also any states in general that seem to be more friendly at hiring nurses in monitoring? Asking because im considering a move and this is a factor I would consider being that I may be facing the BON at some point. I am about 1.5 years sober (my issue was/is alcohol) and plan to remain that way so its not about trying to find an easy program to get away with anything, more so trying to limit stress and increase likelihood of getting thru the program at all and finding work.

💬I'd love to hear from the experienced PMHNPs (those with > 5 years of experience), do you incorporate talk therapy in your practice and do you know of PMHNP colleagues who work as therapist? Is working as a therapist allowed with a PMHNP credential?

💼I ask these specific questions as my end goal for my career is to be a provider who uses much less pharmacologics and uses more talk therapy and provides a safe space for people to be heard, and I hope that a PMHNP certification helps me achieve this.

❌Reinstating after suspension✋

🤗Hello all, I had an incident more than 3 years ago that suspended my license which put me into HPRP. After all the expenses with the program I opted for my license to be suspended for 6 months. Fast forward to 2026 and I'm reinstating my license. Has anyone been thru the reinstatement? Did they still require monitoring?

🤝Negotiating a PRN position?👩🏻‍⚕️

🕒So I do have a full time inpatient nights job, but I want extra $$ so I applied for a PRN outpatient infusion clinic, 8a-4p,no weekends no holidays.

📞Had a phone screening with the recruiter, I thought this would have a min of about 16-24 hours /month but they said they want 1-2 shifts per week, and that will be tough with my full time job already. I'm kinda waiting on til I get the job offer to negotiate for flexibility. This is my first time having a PRN. How would I negotiate this?

🚫No nurses notes📝

🏥Our hospital has recently switched to Epic and since the switch we have been asked to not do nurses notes unless absolutely necessary. We had Meditech prior to the switch and while notes weren't mandatory, they were highly encouraged. Their reasoning is because patients can see what we write. I personally liked notes, because I felt it was easier to get insight in to the pt and their status, plan of care, progress, etc. I know we chart assessments, but they aren't detailed. Has anyone else been told not to do notes?

☤RN jobs for a nurse on probation⚖️

👋Hello everyone,

🏛️I have a friend of mines who is on probation with the Maryland Board of Nursing for 2 years (probation ends December 2026). She is having a hard time finding a job. I know she can't work in critical care nursing I.e. psychiatric units, ER, ICU, corrections, home health, school nursing, hospice. She has to work with another RN. She has been getting interviews, but no job offer. Besides dialysis, can anyone recommend any companies that will hire a nurse who is currently on probation? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
