Dear Student Life at the King's College,

We are contacting you to see if you could help us find Student Life members that would be potentially interested in participating in an fMRI study on news and on ethical decision-making.

The study is being conducted by Prof. Van Bavel, Dr. Andrea Pereira, and Elizabeth Harris and myself from the psychology department at NYU. It takes place in the Meyer building (6 Washington Place), MRI Suite, Room 156B.
It consists of 45 minutes of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) while reading and judging a series of news articles, and 45 minutes completing computerized questionnaires. It is conducted in one unique session of about 1.5 to 2 hours. You will be paid $40.00 for taking part in the study.

The specific requirements for participating are that the participants:
- must identify either as a Republican or as a Democrat (no individuals that identify as Independents, no party affiliation or other)
- must not have metal in or on your body that cannot be removed
- must not be pregnant
- and must be at least 18 years of age
- have normal or corrected to normal vision

At this moment, we are in desperate need of participants and it would be fantastic if you could help us forward the message to the members of your organization.

Interested students can contact us at [email protected] and we will be in touch with more specific information. If they agree to participate then, we will schedule a time in the next few weeks or so.

Thank you so much for your attention and we would very deeply appreciate it if you could help us spread the news of the study!

Best,
Yi Zhang

Hello Everyone!

My name is Njeri McPherson and I am a freshman. I'm doing an ESTV segment on DACA, trying to show opinions from different sides. The plan is to have two people pro DACA and two people against. Would any of you be interested in sharing your opinions on the issue and discussing with others that disagree. It's not meant to be cutthroat, my goal here is to initiate civil calm discussion between people who disagree. I would just be asking you all questions. We would film this Sunday afternoon. If you are interested please email me at [email protected] asap!

I would really appreciate your help. Thank you!
